TGIF! Not only is it Friday, but it’s also makeover day for 86 Lemons. Check out the new blog design – what do you think?! What I had before was a purchased WordPress theme, which I did my best to customize. But my programming skills are, well – NIL! Fortunately, a friend referred me to an amazing programmer, Mila. I redesigned the blog in Photoshop, then sent my files to Mila and voila! – she made it all happen. I’m so thrilled with the results!
A little bit about Mila. She is from Ukraine (and lives there currently). Her English grammar is better than most Americans’. We’ve only communicated through email and it has been a breeze. If you are looking for a blog/web programmer/designer, be sure to check out her website and/or send her an email. She is affordable, efficient, thorough, well-informed, smart and talented!
Also, if you or someone you know is looking to hire someone (full-time) with this skill set in the U.S., consider taking a look at Mila and her work. She and her husband (also a programmer) would like to move to the U.S., but must find jobs here first. I have been more than happy with her work and would refer her a million times over. And just ask anyone who knows me – I’m pretty fussy. (I’m sure my mom is just busting at the seams to leave a comment about that last sentence. Even my kindergarten teacher wrote on my report card that I was a perfectionist. That should give you a clue.)
The RECIPAGE page will contain a recipe index to make searching/browsing past recipes much easier. I hope to have that up within the next few weeks.
I’ve also added a SPONSORS section in the right hand column. If you are interested in advertising your business, shoot me an email.
And now… on a totally unrelated note, I want to say that it has been a bit of a rough week here. Our dear friend, Lindy Ver Beek, passed away from breast cancer a week ago today. She was married to Hubs’ very good friend (since childhood), Dusty. Together, they have three beautiful young children. Lindy was a truly beautiful person, inside and out. She kept a blog of her journey through cancer, and through her posts you can see how amazing, strong, funny and courageous she was. We are so happy that she is in Heaven now and that her body has been made whole again – no more pain! But we grieve for our loss here on Earth. Please pray for Dusty, the children and their families – for comfort, peace, grace and strength.
