Last August, I posted about my coral color crush. I’m still loving coral, but I’ve also got a new crush on the color mint. It’s everywhere right now. Last week at Target, I couldn’t get enough mint. I bought a set of four mint green dip bowls, a mint green photo frame and a decorative minty milk glass bottle (none of which are available online, unfortunately). Speaking of Target (and this is no April Fools’ joke), am I the last one on earth to know about the Target debit card?! When the cashier explained that it’s not a credit card (instead it’s linked directly to your checking account) and that the rewards for using it include 5% off your purchases, free shipping at target.com, pharmacy…

Beneath the Tree (7th annual home tour and art sale)
I love this event. What’s better than touring 12 homes (all decked out in amazing Christmas decor) while shopping for various items from over 100 local artists? This is my idea of a FUN day! And that is was. I tagged along with three friends, two of which have made this an annual tradition for several years. We started early, hit all 12 houses and shopped til we dropped (at about 7 pm). I found so many great items and now I’m so excited to decorate for Christmas this year. My holiday decor hasn’t changed much over the last eight years, so it’s REALLY due for an update. In the morning, we stopped to do a bit of shopping (pretty sure our driver had cut a deal with the shop owner to receive a portion of any business he generated). The shop owner was kind of gracious and kind of a pain in the butt. There were no prices on anything. Instead, he said, “Just put everything you like in this basket and…

Taste of Michigan (food bloggers event)
Caution: Long blog post ahead. There’s just so much I want to share with you! On Saturday, I had the pleasure of being one of 20 food blogger participants in the inaugural Taste of Michigan event, which took place in Grand Rapids, MI. The event was created and hosted by Rachel Gurk of Rachel Cooks and Liz Della Croce of The Lemon Bowl. Rachel and Liz organized a full day of activities/experiences for the group, including the Fulton Street Farmers Market, prop shopping at Art of the Table, lunch at Bistro Bella Vita, wine and cheese sampling at Reserve Wine & Food, and dinner at Six.One.Six. Each blogger also received over $500 in swag! Seriously, best swag bags ever. I met fellow food bloggers from…

Welcome to 86 Lemons. My name is Livvy. Thanks for stopping by! I test a wide variety of seemingly fun DIY projects, vegan recipes and consumer products (like the latest mascara, for example).
